Teacher Adrienne

I was first introduced to Lake Stevens Cooperative Preschool as a parent. Having my daughter in the co-op changed the direction of my life. I found that I was drawn to working with children and learning as much as I could about early childhood development. I began to realize my calling as a preschool teacher.
Fast forward to the present, I have an Early Childhood AA and over 500 hours of professional development. I am also a Certified Wunderled Educator and Leader. I have honed in on what I believe to be essential to the foundation of the early childhood classroom; play based learning, partnered with social-emotional skill building and relationships. This basic foundation supports children’s cognitive development, oral language development, problem solving abilities, and executive function, while ensuring they build skills that carry them for their entire learning journey. I find so much joy in watching children explore and engage in their environment, and I am always amazed by how much they grow when they are given the opportunity to learn through play.
On a personal note, I am glad to have my life partner and spouse, Ted and my daughter Avery supporting my journey. I have lived in the Snohomish area for over 30 years. When I am not at preschool, I love volunteering in my community, being outside, gardening, cooking, and camping.
